Welcome message:
Greetings:
Keynote: “Rethinking sustainability in the field of tension between economic, ecological and social interests”
Specialist lecture: “Hunting law 3.0”
This year’s annual Working Group for Nature-Oriented Forestry (ANW) conference, taking place from 15 to 17 September 2022, is all about sustainability in forest management, which can be as multi-layered as the permanent forest.
On the first conference day, Prof. Guenther will give a keynote speech entitled “Rethinking sustainability in the field of tension between economic, ecological and social interests”. As Director of the UNU-FLORES institute, she will outline the United Nations efforts in halting forest degradation, present options of the bioeconomy to harmonise environmental protection and economic growth and advocate for considering the resource nexus in sustainable forest management.
Every year, all national groups of the ANW gather for a joint conference and excursion to exchange and discuss fresh insights on sustainable forest practices.
