The main premise of the nexus approach is that our connected worlds of water, energy, and food are increasingly interdependent, and that impacts on one sector affect others. In a planet under the pressure of climate change and the increasing demands of growing and more urbanised populations, understanding and taking into account these interdependencies and interconnections is vital to achieve longterm economic, environmental, and social goals, including the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
At the Regional Political-Technical Dialogue on Water, Energy and Food Nexus organised by ECLAC in Santiago, Chile, 14-15 May 2018, UNU-FLORES will present its perspective on the Nexus Approach and how it is implementing this in Latin America in the session “Nexo: Perspectivas de implementación desde el Instituto de Manejo Integrado de Flujos de Materiales y de Recursos” together with GIZ.
All the materials of the Regional Dialogue (presentations, voice recordings, videos and photos) are available here.
This event is part of the GIZ Nexus project and presents one of the regional dialogues held in different areas of the world. Flores will be presenting its perspectives and activities on the Nexus approach in Latin America (mostly SludgeTec).
