Over three days, the 16th Congress for Hospital Hygiene will see several experts present their work on sustainability in the healthcare and medical industries. The first presenter of the Symposium “Green Hospitals”, scheduled for 2 May, will be UNU-FLORES’ Director, Professor Edeltraud Guenther, who will discuss her research on sustainable organisational and operational practices – specifically, What Makes a Hospital Green? / Was macht ein Krankenhaus grün?
The framework topics of the 16th Congress deals with the diverse spectrum of new scientific findings on the various topics regarding hospital hygiene structure, and the prevention and control of antibiotic-resistant pathogens, cleaning, disinfection and sterilisation, and outbreak management in Germany and in Europe. In addition, topics on the history of hospital hygiene and the consequences for public health and aspects of global health will be covered.
This highly topical event will feature experts introducing the main topics and concepts for each theme via overview lectures, which will then be expanded upon in detailed scientific lectures.
