Organiser: Silicon Saxony e.V.
Many companies have the topic of “sustainability” on their to-do list. Still, they will only tackle it when the opportunity arises, as more pressing concerns in their day-to-day business have pushed the topic to the back. However, it has to be addressed urgently with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) becoming mandatory for all EU member states from December 2022 and larger companies increasingly passing on the reporting obligation to their suppliers.
The event aims to provide Silicon Saxony Network members with information on where best to start integrating sustainability into business activities and what role the Sustainable Development Goals play. Prof. Edeltraud Guenther, Director, UNU-FLORES, will explain the UN perspective and give examples of how the United Nations University plans to implement the UN sustainability strategy. The event will be held in German.
With over 400 members, Silicon Saxony e.V. is the largest high-tech network in Saxony, and one of the largest microelectronics and IT clusters in Germany and Europe. As a self-financed association, Silicon Saxony has been connecting manufacturers, suppliers, service providers, colleges/universities, research institutes, public institutions and industry-relevant organisations since its foundation in 2000. The network members wish to learn more about sustainability and how it relates to them. During the event the network will get an overview of the topic.
