A highlight of this year’s Tag der Hydrologie at the Technische Universität Dresden, will be the Dresden Launch of the World Water Development Report 2018 “Nature-Based Solutions for Water”, organised by UNU-FLORES.
The 2018 edition of the World Water Development Report (WWDR 2018) seeks to inform policy and decision-makers, inside and outside the water community, about the potential of nature-based solutions to address contemporary water management challenges across all sectors, and particularly regarding water for agriculture, sustainable cities, disaster risk reduction, and improving water quality.
UNU-FLORES contributed to the report, with insight from our on research on multifunctional land-use systems and constructed wetlands. At the Dresden Launch, UNU-FLORES Officer-in-Charge Dr Kai Schwärzel will present the key findings of the new report.
The United Nations World Water Development Report (WWDR), is the UN-Water flagship report on water. It is a comprehensive review that gives an overall picture of the state, use and management of the world’s freshwater resources and aims to provide decision-makers with tools to formulate and implement sustainable water policies.
