    Speakers

The Saxon State Ministry for Environment and Agriculture is organising the very first Day of Sustainability (Tag der Nachhaltigkeit) in Saxony under the topic “Sustainable Management of Resources”. The diverse programme includes talks of Saxon State Minister of the Environment and Agriculture Thomas Schmidt and Prof. Edeltraud Guenther, Director of UNU-FLORES, who will give her perspective of sustainable resource management. In addition, Dr Fatima Denton, Director of UNU-INRA in Ghana will give insights on how to increase efficiency and resilience to climate change by empowering women in society. The second part of the event will split participants in four groups, each discussing a topic with experts from politics, society, or the private sector. Prof. Guenther and Dr Denton will contribute to the group discussing economic and development cooperation, which will address economic action as an opportunity and a challenge for sustainable development.

The event will take place in German; simultaneous translation into English is offered.

The programme is available here in German.
