Organiser: Technische Universität Dresden as part of the HOCH-N Initiative
During this 2-day event, the Environmental Protection, Real Estate, Technology and Safety Group, as well as partners from HOCH-N aim to develop a roadmap for TU Dresden towards greater sustainability and to show development paths for topics such as campus design, mobility, and energy efficiency on campus.
Prof. Edeltraud Guenther, Director at UNU-FLORES, and Dr Andreas Handschuh, Chancellor of TU Dresden will take part in a fishbowl panel discussion to discuss future options for more sustainable universities.
On 6 November 2019, the focus will be on the HOCH-N network and the exchange of experience between EMAS-certified universities.
The aim of the joint project HOCH-N is to promote sustainable development at Higher Education Institutions in Germany. A central question is to understand which kind of contributions these Higher Educations Institutions can make. As societal actors, Higher Education Institutions bear a great responsibility in educating future generations. The institutionalisation of sustainability at Higher Education Institutions is of a multidimensional nature, it is to be integrated into several fields of action on an inter-, intra-, and transdisciplinary level.
Since November 2016, eleven German Higher Education Institutions have been working together to meet the multidimensional challenges of sustainable development in higher education for HOCH-N.
The Chair of Sustainability Management and Environmental Accounting at TU Dresden and the Hochschule Zittau/Görtlitz (HSZG) are working together on sustainable perspectives in operations in higher education.
Core tasks of this field of action are: procurement, operations, disposal, resource management, mobility, diversity, marketing, event management, as well as the controlling of respective activities.
An event flyer is available here.
Please note that the location for this event will change on the second day.
