Co-Organisers: Executive Agency for SMEs (EASME) of the European Commission and Nexus Project Cluster
Co-Conveners: SIM4Nexus, DAFNE, and United Nations University Institute for Integrated Management of Material Fluxes and of Resources (UNU-FLORES)
The purpose of the workshop is to showcase the achievements from research in defining the “nexus”, including the development of methods as well as the use of tools and available data. The projects address several policy domains including sectoral policies (e.g., energy, climate, environment, agriculture), as well as cross-sectoral policies (e.g., resource efficiency, circular economy). In addition, we seek to make explicit knowledge gaps and to interact with the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation regarding Horizon Europe.
The workshop is co-organised by the Executive Agency for SMEs (EASME) and the Nexus Project Cluster, and brings together EU-funded projects related to the resource nexus as well as other (non-EU funded) related initiatives with the objective to stimulate peer-to-peer and science-to-policy discussions on how to get the most out of nexus research for the benefit of society and policymaking.
This is the second event of its kind, with the first one happening last year in November. UNU-FLORES’s Dr Tamara Avellán, who heads the Water Resources Management unit, is part of the Steering Committee of the Nexus Project Cluster.
