In the workshop ‘Navigating Turbulent Times of Transition’, New Institutional Economics (NIÖ) network members discuss theoretical, conceptual, analytical and empirical approaches in the transition of socio-ecological systems from a New Institutional Economics perspective. Strong interlinkages between social and ecological systems and their rapid change create complexity and uncertainty, especially in periods of transition. These are critical challenges faced by scholars and practitioners alike.

On 12 July, the second workshop day, Taha Loghmani, UNU-FLORES and Technische Universität Dresden, holds a presentation entitled ‘Governance Aspects Affecting Subsidence Phenomena in Mahyar Valley, Esfahan, Iran; How is Policy Coherency Affecting Emerging Subsidence Phenomena?’, scheduled during Session V ‘Polycentric Governance and Networks of Action Situation’.

The relevant paper for the presentation can be found here.
