    Speakers

    On 3 May 2019, UNU-MERIT and UNU-FLORES will co-organise a session at the SDG Global Festival of Action 2019.

    The aim of this session is to tackle the barriers that prevent us from behaving more sustainably.
    Do you know that you are part of the problem – as well as the solution? So how can we make you and everyone else walk the talk to circularity?

    To get started, join us in this very interactive workshop, where we will be exchanging ideas on new perspectives, methods and solutions to overcome real challenges being faced by different actors! Do role-playing as municipalities, firms and citizens to understand the interconnections of the circular economy with all other SDGs.

    During this event, you will have the chance to…

    • Familiarise yourself with the concept of Circular Economy and understand the linkages with multiple SDGs;
    • Realise why and how transitions to a circular economy could be facilitated through the ‘Science, Innovation, Technology and Engagement (SITE)’ variables;
    • Understand the role and importance of behavioural change strategies (‘nudge’), increasingly being used for effective policymaking;
    • Generate ideas to overcome real challenges being faced by key stakeholders in the system.

    Background

    This session is the 6th event organised by UNU-MERIT’s SITE4Society initiative.

    The SDG Global Festival of Action is is a ground-breaking event, positioned to gather and inspire SDGs campaigners and multi-stakeholder partners to scale up and broaden the global movement to take action for the SDGs.

    Taking place in Bonn every year, the Festival provides a dynamic and interactive space to showcase the latest innovations, tools and approaches to SDG advocacy and SDG action.

    It brings together leaders from governments, local authorities, international organisations, civil society, activists, young advocates, the creative industry and the private sector– to scale up the impact of their work and strategise joint actions, whilst motivating new organisations and individuals to join the movement and take action for the SDGs.
