Co-Organisers: UN Environment, Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research – UFZ
The workshop allows participants to take stock of ongoing activities and devise a way forward regarding the operationalisation of the World Water Quality Alliance (WWQA). This is critical and needed in face of ongoing requests for participation.
As part of the work on the UN Environment World Water Quality Assessment, UNU-FLORES has been invited to participate at the 2nd Global Workshop that is to be held from 16–19 September 2019 in Ispra, Italy. Apart from taking part in this overall initiative, we will also be presenting the results of the project “Harmonization of monitoring methodologies of macro-plastics and microplastics in rivers and lakes – to reduce and prevent marine litter and microplastics pollution from rivers” that is being conducted in conjunction with the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research – UFZ.
