    Biographical Statement

Rashed Al Mizan is a Doctoral Researcher focusing on sustainability in the textile industry and interrelating the waste, energy, and chemical nexus in the production of active thermoregulating functional workwear. Next to his research work at UNU-FLORES, he is an Assistant Professor at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) in Bangladesh, where he also led the initiative to set up the Chair for Sustainability and Textile Innovation. Rashed has undergone rigorous training on sustainability and circular economy at Technische Universität Dresden (Faculty of Environmental Sciences) and UNU-FLORES since April 2020. With the support of the project team from AUST and UNU-FLORES, he is implementing his learning in the curricula development for AUST, emphasising the sustainability and circular economy concept for the future leaders of the textile industry in Bangladesh. In addition, Rashed has five years of teaching and research experience in the field of functional and sustainable textiles.
